• We all sing. Maybe where you worship, in the car, in the shower. But many of us are unsure about our ability, or about singing in front of others. Keene’s Cheshiremen Chorus wants to help you get the most beautiful sound possible from your voice with the ease and confidence to perform and have fun while doing so! We love to sing – that’s why we’ve been doing it for over 70 years.

Who?

• This is for men and women of any age, who have always wanted to sing, or who want to improve their voice and singing skills.

Cost?

• There is no cost; the program is FREE. It’s a local community service program from the Monadnock region’s premiere a cappella chorus - Keene’s Cheshiremen Chorus. All Learning materials will be provided. This includes sheet music and mp3 audio files.

When?

• Tuesday evenings, for 6 consecutive weeks, starting May 16 (week one) and continuing to June 20 (#6). Arrive at 6:30 pm, lessons begin at 6:45 to ~7:45 pm (only 1-hour!). Come one night or complete the full six-week progressive course—it’s up to you! You are welcome to stay for some light refreshments after each session, and you’ll be able to listen to the chorus, if you wish!

• On the final night, June 20th, BRING friends & family! because in addition to the 6th lesson, we’ll be hosting an evening which recognizes your accomplishment with a combined sing and including a simple Graduation Ceremony. We’ll have another refreshment spread and an opportunity for you to hear other a cappella performances and maybe even sing a Tag or two! What’s a tag? *select here, look below/right.

Do I need Experience?

• Can’t read music? Not a problem! No prior experience is needed! We have ways to make this work for you!

• Afraid of singing in front of others?  Chances are many of your fellow students feel the same way.  You will be in a very comfortable environment with NO judgment.  Imagine that!

• Worried about the time investment needed?  Each weekly lesson takes only an hour of your Tuesday evening: after dinner and before dessert.

• Already have experience singing and want to take it up a notch?  The simple curriculum takes you from basic fundamentals to advanced concepts.

Your Teachers?

• Our Music Director, Mark Brosseau, has 40+ years of vocal education and music teaching experience. He has the skills to reach students of all talent levels and brings a great amount of energy and humor to the program. Mark and our equally experienced Music Team will inspire you with basic fundamentals up to advanced concepts, no matter what your skill level right now. It will be fun, too! Promise!
